When I got out of the Army and got my first civilian job, I set up my daily routine around my morning workout. I swore I wasn't going to be one of those guys who gets out of the military, and immediately balloons in weight because he no longer has daily PT. I would get up early (some military habits never die out), go for a long run, then come back to my apartment, park my weight bench in front of the TV, turn on MTV, and pump iron to the video hits.

Within a couple of months, I had abs to die for.

They only lasted about a year and a half; very hard to maintain.

And I drifted away from MTV when they starting airing things other than music videos. I remember "The State" was their first non-music program. I barely watched it, and turned it off for good not long after.
