Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen. Freddy Mercury worked on this for years before it was finally recorded

Don't Go Breaking My Heart - Elton John and Kiki Dee. This was Dee's only venture in the top of the popularity charts in both UK and USA.

Afternoon Delight - Starland Vocal Band. Starland Vocal Band became a one hit wonder with this song and garnered a summer replacement series variety show TV slot. Songwriter Bill Danoff had more success. He collaborated with John Denver on several songs including "Country Roads." He wrote the tune for Emmylou Harris' "Boulder to Birmingham."

Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald - Gordon Lightfoot. The song was written and recorded in late 1975 shortly after the sinking but it was not released until the summer of 1976. It got a lot of play this past autumn for the 50th anniversary of the event.
