My new years celebration. [View all]

I'm home alone for a change this year and rockin' to the Dick Clark show. I usually go somewhere but I'm snowed in. I was just going to have a Mexican Coke to celebrate. Yippee!

But then I got to thinking...
Except for a glass of wine here & there I quit drinking years ago, but this year I stayed home. I'm unsupervised!

I remembered I have some liquor under the sink that I haven't even looked since I moved here 5 years ago. I dug out the only thing that was a bourbon, It was half a bottle of Old Grand Dad. I was a Crown Royal guy so I know no one has reopened that bottle since the '80s. Does that mean it's aged, or poison?

I asked a friend and she asked if there was a date on it, like that would matter. "Best if consumed before 2035". So I choked a shot down. I actually started feeling that, so I sipped another. Between that and the smoke I'm ready for one more, then tell the last 365 days to kiss my ass.
