EDITED TO UPDATE: Thanks to all of the good vibes from DU, I did survive unscathed. I was (of course!!!) picked, but it was a pretty quick proceeding. The case had to do with a grazing lease/cattle issue. It was a small jury - only six of us and ALL WOMEN!!!!! LOL

I didn't run into any obvious MAGA's, but in typical small-town-Texas-style, you sure could (in my opinion) tell that the judge favored the Plaintiff (who is a local). The Defendant was from "other parts" and didn't get the same (wink! wink!!) treatment in my thinking.

Unfortunately for the Plaintiff, the rest of us were not as impressed with his side of the case as the judge seemed to be. The unanimous verdict went for the Defendant.

Thanks again for all of the support and kind words! I'm glad to finally be home and done!

I have jury duty this afternoon in a very red, rural Texas county. I am going to stand out like a sore thumb.

All good vibes appreciated. I could probably have gotten out of it but I do believe in the system. Still don’t want to go. But I will.
