6. Have you tried another browser (sometimes these browsers do funny things)?

If the VPN was turned off, you need to reload the page for the You-tube video to recognize the change. My security software constantly turns the VPN on each time we boot up the computer or restart it (McAfee). I generally have it set to Australia or another location overseas. But I have also noticed our satellite provider (right now it is Starlink) also makes sites think we are in Chicago or some other place (IP address of the internet provider or relay station).

I use Firefox as my primary browser. But there are times when we have to use another browser because a website was optimized for another browser (my insurance company's website will only work with Google Chrome). You could try another browser and see if the same problem exists with You-tube videos.
