Does anyone here use the Ring (brand) wireless security system? What do you think? [View all]

Our old security system is 20 years old, and it's becoming increasingly unreliable with false alarms and not triggering when it's supposed to.

We're thinking about the Ring system because it's been around for awhile, and because (supposedly) we can use it as an unmonitored alarm-system.

We are hoping that the Ring alarm will work without a monthly monitoring or subscription fee... and that it will sound-off locally (in the house) and wake us up... and will ping our phones... without summoning the police.

Can anyone share their experiences, recommendations, tips (or warnings) please? We haven't made up our minds, but we're definitely leaning toward "Ring".
