a step it was as if I'd been hit with a lightning bolt. I literally crawled through the house to make it to the car to go to the ER. I'm grateful to the neurologist I ended up seeing who prescribed gabapentin. For almost a year I was on the maximum dosage. Now I take 300 mg. a day to help with sleep and to keep just a little twinge of neuralgia in my left leg at bay. Shingles was a walk in the park compared to the neuralgia complication that ensued.
