11. How effective would you say Gabepentin is for pain relief, CTyankee?

Upon having it prescribed by a veterinarian, we gave it to our dog, who was severely arthritic. It did seem to help him settle down. Prior to that he was on an anti-inflammatory/painkiller but it was harder on his liver (one upside of Gabepentin is that it hardly has any effect on the liver while being processed) and it was much more affordable.

Anyway, he passed on, but our male dog now, much younger, is going to be starting Gabepentin this week until he has surgery to fix his hip dysplasia. I'm hoping it helps him, of course.
