Why shouldn't the public know if artificial intelligence has been used to generate part or all of a project?

Authors, musicians, other artists, and corporations protect their work with copyright and patents. Shouldn't a reverse patent be used to protect the public?

I'm in a position to write to members of a group. I take the time to compose and edit the material. I would be offended if the members thought I would use AI to create my work.

I think we should separate AI work to the benefit of the creators and consumers.
