Next time you visit take time to eat at Manuel's Tavern. This was the meeting place for many democratic functions since the 1960's. Jimmy Carter announced his run for governor there in 1970, and President Obama visited on one of his campaigns in the state. There are so many great pictures on the walls that it would take hours to walk around the different rooms to see them all.
