....they have no army. Their only authority is the trust that the people have in them as an institution.

Once you destroy that trust, as Mitch McConnell did by not allowing Antonin Scalia's seat to be filled, you are on the downward descent into authoritarianism where courts are not even necessary.

How they could ignore THAT lesson of history (and current events even) still baffles me.
