accidents with children, I assumed what I posted was sound. Thanks to your efforts, I now realize what I said was wrong and should have researched the matter beforehand.

I believe the main reason winter Daylight Savings in the 1970s was discontinued was that everyone HATED it, including myself. The idea that kids were getting killed waiting for the school bus helped to justify our hatred and its termination.

However, I stand by my main point that the current system we have now, though flawed, is still the best method we have to deal with the change in the hours of sunlight that occur during the year.

But if we must go to a year round static system, then I agree with wackadoo wabbit’s post we’d be better off making it Standard Time instead of Daylight Saving Time.
