(3,562 posts)Citation #37 (above) calculates that a very high dosage of IVM would be needed for it to be effective in humans. However, this analysis omits the use of zinc as a co-factor to be used with ivermectin in treating, or preventing, Covid. This trace mineral was a key part of the strategy implemented by Kory and others, but was not included in the major clinical trials which dismissed ivermectin's efficacy. The zinc facilitates the intracellular transfer of IVM, so that much lower, and potentially less toxic, doses of IVM would be required to be effective against the virus (as noted in citation #36).
