A photo of Donald Trump posing with members of the University of Georgia’s championship-winning women’s tennis team has been mocked online, with many calling out the picture’s puzzling composition. “The official White House X account celebrates a women’s collegiate athletic team by placing them directly behind six smiling men.

Gee, thanks, Mr. President,” one user commented on the photo. Added another: “Whomever from the WH comms team that approved this photo composition should be immediately fired. It’s so egregiously bad that it’s an assault on good sensibility.”

The Georgia Bulldogs tennis team was one of several NCAA champions invited to the White House on Tuesday to celebrate their wins. A photo posted by White House staffer Margo Martin showed the women gathered behind six men, including the president, who was standing slightly elevated on a step.

“Congratulations, Georgia Women’s Tennis!” Martin wrote. “Can you hear the congratulations back there?” joked one X user, with another adding: “Siri, show us misogyny.” “Me when I definitely respect women’s sports teams: what if we put them behind us so you can barely see them,” replied a third user.
