However the Met Gala is something else... it's wealthy people parading their money and status around in front of other wealthy people. Jeff Bezos isn't donating to the Museum, which is for all the people of New York (who mostly vote D). He's donating to the Gala, and it's reserved for the wealthiest (who mostly vote R).
