Living in a county where 2 of 3 County Supervisors refused their lawful duty to certify an election*, I trust officials in smaller counties without real journalists as far as I could throw them. It is SO easy for GOP operatives to convince a lot of 'officials' to do illegal things as a means to get attention from 'the big guys' further up the food chain.

Smaller counties don't generally have big talent pools from which to get knowledgeable officials. When laws get broken, justice is easy to evade.

If not for Marc Elias, voters in our county would have been totally disenfranchised due to 2 GOP Supervisors who dragged their feet and missed the deadline for certification.

Watch your local officials! Go to county meetings if you can. Check to see if citizens can attend, AND COMMENT, via ZOOM. And never ignore the down ballot offices when you vote. Those local officials are easily swayed, manipulated, even hood-whinked by party operatives. There are reasons Trump wants access to voter records. His flunkies need to know who to have local officials to purge.

*One of those clowns plead quilty to a lesser charge and got out of office. The other is STILL fighting being tried years after his indictment. That man has more excuses to delay that any judge should put up with. Sick, had to have a hernia operation, lawyer had to have a hernia operation.... I fully expect he will need a hysterectomy as the next trial date come us.
