In reply to the discussion: Trump proposes painting executive office building white [View all]SomewhereInTheMiddle
(662 posts)53. I see it as a sign of his dementia ...
... as his mind deteriorates, he reverts to what he knows best/is most comfortable talking about -- building and renovations. He has been doing this his whole 2nd term.
I saw this behaviour in my father as he slipped away. he was a lawyer, so he loved to talk law and his old cases, even if he had no idea to whom he was speaking. It was his mental comfort zone.
Building/renovating is Trump's mental comfort zone - at least in public. I imagine in private he goes to his other mental comfort zone -- sexism/racism and hitting on anyone with a XX chromosome under 35.
I fully expect him to talk more and more about these sorts of project.
He could do worse to our nation - and is.

He is so out of his depth in foreign affairs and economic policy, all he focuses on is what he's always known...

Painting it will make it harder to maintain, water gets behind the paint, the stone can't breath

thats just bullshit, repainting that thing will have to be nearly continuous, whereas the granite is holding up fine.

That's gotta be one of the least destructive ideas he's had in his second term. Unlike his other building/remodeling
