I kniw a lot of people deride Reddit as being a cesspool, but that's a gross oversimplification, imo. There may be some garbage subreddits out there, but there are also many, many well run subreddits that are a pleasure to use. I would hate to see anything endanger that. Reddit is extremely diverse, and that's one of the best things about it afaic.
