Republicans will use this against ever elected Democratic presidents going forth, even when their is nothing there. They are masters at creating a false narrative and never doing anything in a bipartisan manner for the good of the country.

Republicans are a political predators who never act n good faith.
Look at what they did to Grey Davis in California.
