not a trigger for Article 5 of the NATO charter. Article 5 states that members can come to the defense of another member if they are attacked. We were not attacked. We attacked Iran.

Trump is way out of line and is attempting to control the narrative. He will blame NATO allies if they do not send military assistance. Conversely, if our allies send assistance, this war is, to say politely, messed up. There is a high probability of failure and if they fail, Trump will blame the allies.
