I think you are correct but she may be implicated in charges other than federal ones not pardoned by Trump so she has to watch out she does not put herself in further legal jeopardy. And there is the likely chance she could implicate others in any depositions under oath. She may think she can strike some immunity deal by her future testimony regarding others involved in other crimes and/or conspiracies. Perhaps she thinks she can make a deal to squeal and do soft time at that minimum security prison where Maxwell is serving her time.
