that was out of sync has portions that can't just continue to pour money into production/salaries/contractors without having a serious cash flow problem.

But maybe because budgetary allocations assume a specified allocation/disbursement date and the radar upgrade won't (according to current plans) be ready until late this year or early next.

Then again, in 5/24 the GAO said that the radar was to be all prettied up and ready to go by end of 2024/beginning 2025. Biden's DOD signed off on that but, you know, it didn't happen.

An academic search candidate to my grad dept. years back had one bit of advice for dissertators: The best dissertation is a completed dissertation. It doesn't have to be perfect, but if it can't be submitted because you're still adding in the research findings from last month because every month you'll be adding in the most recent research findings.

The F-35 will have some obsolete traits in 2 years. But that can be said whatever its production date is.
