The 25th amendment can remove the president temporarily more easily, but impeachment and conviction may be the easier route to permanently remove the president than the 25th.

Temporary removal – only requires a vote of the VP and the majority of the cabinet. But is only lasts until the president writes to Congress saying he is fit. After that the VP/Cabinet have a maximum of 4 days to argue. If they don’t the president is reinstated. If they do it takes a 2/3rds majority of both houses to keep the president out of office.

This means in our current situation he would only be out a week at most.

Permanent removal is the same as above, but the VP/Cabinet claims he is unfit for office and Congress votes - 2/3rds majority of both houses - to permanently remove him.

Impeachment takes a simple majority of the House and conviction and permanent removal takes a 2/3rds majority of the Senate. This is easier by 1/6th of the House and not needing to involve the cabinet at all.

The 25th is a temporary fix at best and relies on the competence and courage (or self-interest) of his hand-picked lapdogs.

The impeachment/removal process is still our best bet for permanent removal – other than waiting until either the end of his term or the end of his life removes him first.

And so we wait.
