Ahh yes, that ever present daydream that there will be accountability for this crap.

That word has not existed in this country for a long time now. Why would anyone think that it is suddenly going to happen?

Because they deserve it? Others have deserved it and they were never held to account.

Because this is different? How, exactly? They are evil and need to be stopped, just as others have been evil and needed to be stopped.

They were not stopped.

So, forgive me if all of this talk about 'accountability' just seems rather limp. There have been too many times in the past where this concept should have happened and it did not.

The rich call the shots. They are not going to hold their own to account. They re not going to let us do it, either.

If you want real accountability, remove their power and position.

We won't, but we need to desperately.
