The new AF-1 still isn't scheduled to be completed until mid- 2028 or 2029. Two or three years from now., so we don't know who will be in charge then.
This is probably Pentagon Pete giving a news release that pleases his boss, and news agencies offering up recycled clickbait headlines.

I'm going to worry about more dire events for now.
