What would someone who knows how the system works and has experience in that system tell someone like trump who doesn't trust expertise, to convince trump he's the guy?

Did this guy just tell trump what he wanted to hear just so he could get that coveted position?

Will this guy actually do trump's bidding in the end or will he be a Powell?

Will he get a kickback for knowingly tanking the economy for billionaires (who would benefit from shorting the market, buying up cheap assets, etc.)?

Is he a sociopath who just happens to have the expertise needed for confirmation votes?
