8. Many of the foodbanks are run by churches and community volunteers, who deserve our support

This isn't a political announcement, I'm asking my fellow DUers to consider donating to foodbanks in our own communities.

We won't get the headlines like Taylor Swift does, but that's OK. We all live in communities that serve the poor and most of them are run by loving, giving neighbors. They used to think they could count on funding from the government, and now that's all falling apart. Even the blue states are having trouble keeping up.

Please support your local community foodbanks, because it's going to make a difference THIS YEAR. If you belong to a church please ask your church groups to help in any way they can, by donations, volunteering or whatever. So many Americans are desperately needing help, and the professional fundraising conglomerates aren't getting paid to care about the unfortunates this year.
