31. That's what rethugs tried to do in Georgia.

Peaceful protesters against a proposed militarized police training facility in Atlanta (nicknamed "Cop City," if you want a useful search term) were brought up on domestic terrorism charges. Contributors to a bail fund -- people who had never set foot in the protest area -- were charged with criminal conspiracy and RICO.Video cameras were set up secretly outside the homes of activists. And not to be forgotten, police shot and killed an unarmed protester.

This past September, charges were dismissed by a judge...after two years of people who were exercising their civil rights being terrorized and their lives upended.

But this sort of thinking isn't going away. And the types of laws that allowed the people charged in Georgia to get their lives back -- because of a sane judge -- other red states have been changing those laws to criminalize protest ever since the summer George Floyd was murdered.

Trump's federal regime isn't starting from zero on this plan.

As far as criteria to designate what qualifies as a terrorist organization, that already exists. It has not gotten enough attention.
