(8,627 posts)any and all avenues to keep hidden what they want while "releasing" the materials. Even if after court battles and SC review it comes out they can drag this out for a long time. The SC could stay any lower court order for release of "redacted" items and then take a full year or longer to hear the case themselves. Keeping in mind that an SC decision does not have be "release or not release". They could simply claim they found "error" in the lower court case and remand it back. In which case more time could drag on and that second bite at the apple in the lower court could also be stayed and appealed to the SC again for another year or so of delay.
Then might come the refusal to comply with the ultimate decision and the subsequent court wranglings about forcing compliance and all the appeals of those decisions. The bottom line is that to expect compliance just because something is written in law or has adjudicated cases in courts is not the reality of these fascists. Look at their "sort of" compliance with court orders on immigration etc.
Look at the "sort of" compliance of Crumb the 1st in the documents investigation, behavior during civil trials etc. Look at his "sort of " compliance with the restrictions on his living at his ghastly horror in Florida.
Their whole thing is always delay, delay by any means possible even if eventual defeat is a certainty.
