8. This is a Golden Opportunity. If they will not talk to their constituents, we can talk to them.

By being pro-active, we determine the subject of the debate. We put our views to the forefront and put Republicans on the defensive.

And what this Administration, with Republican support, is doing is indefensible.

Republicans have played us for years by putting their message out first, repeating it over and over, and defending it no matter how loony it is. For example, they have successfully painted the Democrats as the Party of Fiscal Irresponsibility, even though Democrats are the only ones to balance the budget or run a surplus, and the fact that the Federal Deficit explodes under Republicans and falls under Democrats. That is the power of efficient, disciplined messaging. Notice that the Republicans bring up the debt constantly in their public appearances, even if it has nothing to do with the topic under discussion.

It is time for us to take the initiative. We need to aggressively put our ideas, our policy agenda, out in the public and repeat them over and over. Yep, we need a set of short, simple, daily "bullet points" and to keep our folks on topic.

"Save Our Social Security!", for example. Simple, popular, easy to remember, easy to repeat.

"Keep Billionaires Away from Our Medicare!"

Instead of our folks responding to every insane Trump utterance, hammer home our own pro-active message.

I suggest topics such as healthcare, childcare, stability, competence, education, and economy! economy! economy!
