WASHINGTON — In a rare moment of public disagreement with members of her own party, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi called out Senate Democrats on Friday for supporting Republicans’ government funding extension.

The Senate was expected to vote Friday on a seven-month funding extension to keep the government open. The current funding expires at midnight. The funding resolution would increase defense spending by $6 billion, decrease non-defense funding by $13 billion, provide nearly $10 billion in funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and discontinue $890 million in grants for health facilities and $293 million for emergency preparedness projects, changes from existing funding many Democrats oppose.

Pelosi said Democrats shouldn’t play into President Donald Trump’s hands.
