(18,685 posts)One of my favorite (RIP) uncles worked for WHO. His main work became involved in
Malaria eradification.
First he worked in DC. Then moved to Geneva where It's headquartered. When he retired he, and my aunt moved to a little Swiss village about halfway north near the French border.
My aunt was a masterful wood printmaker. Did ecthings, too, pastels, stained glass. Wrote, and illustrated 6+ children's books.
It was she who invited me to spend 3 weeks in her studio doing art! And she took me, and a granddaughter to Paris: 4 days, 3 nights.
She had gotten Parkinson's, so my uncle became a really good cook.
They were wonderful hosts! I had a fabulous time making art: trying new materials, and techniques, too; visiting Paris, and hanging out with my cousins who came to visit.
Anyway, they're both gone now. But,
woah, he'd have been stunned, and furious at this health tragedy/travesty!
