In 2003, Hannity stated to his radio audience that the NYT was reporting that, following the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the U.S. was dealing with a stockpile of uranium which U.S. troops discovered in that country, thereby giving credence to Bush's claim that Iraq had been preparing to build nuclear weapons.

The truth is that is was an old stockpile which dated back to the end of the 1991 Gulf War and which Iraq declared at that time. The stockpile was under international monitoring from 1991 through the time of the 2003 U.S. invasion.

I am pretty certain that the a vast majority of Hannity's audience believed his falsehood.
