why does it have to be restated only when a Republican is in the White House? For far too long, Republicans have weaponized this issue - even before the orange monster. They accuse Democrats of being unpatriotic communists and we get quiet because we don't want to be labeled that way. And yet, when a Democrat is in the White House, the media and Republicans criticize EVERYTHING about them and never face accusations that they hate America? Remember Obama's tan suit and how the media and the pearl-clutchers saw that as demeaning to the dignity of the presidency? Where are those folks now? And please don't tell me that we "take the high road" and stuff like that. In this environment, with a corrupt Republican party, a complicit media and a large segment of the population checked out, "taking the high road" is a recipe for losing. I think every Democratic leader and pundit should always say "corrupt" or "lying" whenever they talk about the resident of the White House.
