...allow for parties working to influence elections through advertising and backing candidates they think would help their cause by either winning or losing.

As Bullock pointed out, Democrats have tried to influence Republican primaries.

While it is helpful to expose it so everyone knows they need to be on the lookout for these tactics, I don't think we need to be outraged by anyone using free speech to influence elections--that is America.

Voter suppression tactics and undermining state's rights to administer elections are an entirely different thing of course.
