However, I did not say that they could not leave.
I am saying that they forfeit their 'position' in that state if they do. I am saying that the state owes them nothing if they prefer to bail out on the state they live in as opposed to working with the state to figure out a more equitable way to make things better for everyone.
I am saying that we are too programmed for our own good. Even when the answer is right in front of us, we cannot see it for the delusion that we might get rich one day, that we might become solvent, that we might stand a chance against those who control or possess the majority of the wealth, and thus the majority of the power and the privilege. The entire structure has been corrupted and rigged in their favor, and yet we still keep trying to use that same system, as if it will suddenly let us into the game.
If you want to remove 'clever tax people', remove the rigging in the system. If you want more equitable society, remove the rigging in the system. We won't do that, because the few people who were actually allowed to scrape a few bucks together are convinced that the system is working for them and will fight tooth and nail to keep that system, the massive biases and downright rigging creating a worse situation every day be damned.
You are not in favor of the central government being into 'social engineering'? So, you don't want the social programs that have been in place since the Roosevelt administration? You don't want Social Security or Medicare, or SNAP, or any of those 'social engineering' agencies that are trying to 'engineer' a better 'society'? You don't want those 'social engineering' regulations that keep corporations from destroying everything around them in the name of their greed? Really?
