163. I never bought into the whole "Christian" forgiveness thing...

To me, it was just a convenient tradition that priests used to avoid accountability for their OWN sins. The whole logic of “the anger you feel only punishes you, not the perpetrators of harm” is bullshit to my ears. Anger is far more empowering than fear or “forgiveness.” It’s not that I’m incapable of forgiving, I am. But I don’t believe it offers the benefits of peace so many are convinced it does. No… I’ll keep my power and my anger when I think it serves me better.

So I guess, to answer your question as to being able to forgive MAGA. As a whole? No. I do not forgive MAGA anymore than I forgive Hitler or any other mass murderer. For to be sure, MAGA is responsible for great suffering and mass murder in this world. But on an individual basis, I may be able to forgive—it depends on the reasons they were roped in, the newly acquired self-awareness (if any) the experience resulted in, and the authenticity of their contrition. I have no sympathy for those who are merely sorry because it has not worked out well for them personally. Nor do I have any sympathy for those who became MAGA because it satisfied their racist passions. Nope. No forgiveness for those folks. They should pay forever for the hate their hearts facilitated and promoted.
