I'll be walking from my office to Union Station and someone riding one of those things will whiz past me on the street. To the best of my knowledge they're street legal here. Riders are required by law to wear a helmet but most don't. Those things go fast enough that anyone not wearing a brain-bucket is going to have a bad time if they get dumped.

They're not as common as the little e-bikes and e-scooters, though. Those things are all over the place to the point that the owners of my office building have a sign in the lobby stating that they're not allowed in the building. I don't see why riders can't bring them up and store them in their offices during the day but them's the rules, apparently.
