and other pollinators as well. Native bees are just as efficient pollinators as honey bees, and they are just as susceptible to habitat loss and harm from pesticides, so bee lab researchers are essential for their protection. The excellent bee lab at the University of Minnesota, for example, researches protection for both types of bees: "The mission of the UMN Bee Lab is to promote the conservation, health, and diversity of bee pollinators through research, education, and hands-on mentorship. In our work with all bees, managed honey bees as well as wild, native bees, we are mindful of potential risks honey bees pose to native bees.
