Calvinball being the game from the Calvin & Hobbes comic strip wherein rules are basically made up as you go.

The modern right-wing propaganda game is simply that the loyal masses have agreed to parrot back the party line with zero critical thinking, and they insist that they win the argument simply by refusing to ever admit that they're wrong. That's the sum total of all debating logic to them.

An earlier form if this was when wrestling (wwe) fans insisted it was real (not staged, scripted, etc) despite obvious evidence such as elite "competitors" turning their backs to their opponents to preen at the crowd, allowing the opponent to get in a "surprise" attack. The game was simply to refuse to agree that it was anything other than an honest competition.

Not an ounce of integrity or merit to their views or positions if they're basically just gaslighting everything.

I could list reasons why Harris (or just about anyone, really) would have been far better, but it's a waste of breath. They're not interested in actual logic, they just enjoy seeing us pissed and annoyed and angry.
