(7,397 posts)66. Swalwell won primary by attacking a Democrat's atheism
Pete Stark was the incumbent Democrat. He was honest with his constituents about his religious beliefs. He was an atheist.
Swalwell primaried him and he and his supporters hammered Stark on his vote against the Republican bill to put In God we Trust on our currency.
So the progressive won by attacking the separation of church and state .
With many of the progressive supporters of Platner the hammer against the primary opponent is age.
I want reliable Democratic senators and representatives to build our country on democratic principles. The races I am focusing are in states other than Maine.
