by an indigenous friend from Mexico. It was in the early 70s when the Carlos Castaneda trilogy was very popular. It was done is a serious way with preparation prior to consuming it, etc. I think my encounter with "Mescalito" changed my life...it was a very enlightening experience. People often speak of opening your mind, etc. and this is what they are speaking of...that was over 55 years ago, and I still remember and think of the experience these days.

It is a much different experience from the typical recreational drugs - very real, very vivid, and more pleasant than the typical LSD experience of the day. I experimented a lot in my youth but have never been drug user, except for marijuana, in my adult life.

I think our society could use something to escape the reality of the 21st century that would not be addicting and allow people to live responsible lives without as much prejudice that is deeply embedded in the American psyche.
