… convinced* enough people that outsourcing was cheaper, and cheaper is good.

The military gets a lot of crap for having things that are so expensive**, but sometimes the expense is due to redundancy and getting that extra .89999% uptime, and not anyone getting swindled. “The West Wing” had a scene that talked about this…

*and/or bribed/promised future hiring
**though there is no argument from me that it’s too damn big compared to domestic spending, but that’s another topic…
