12. Alas and again; the poor suffering Republican wife...

I used to have a file of instances where some Republican got caught in some immoral shittery, couldn’t deny it, and took to a press conference where he admitted to his “all-too human failures,” announced he prayed and that - God had forgiven him! So, we’re good, amiright?

And standing behind him - the poor wife with a shell-shocked look of absolute humiliation on her face.

My fav? Senator David Vitter after he got caught with a prostitute who would diaper him. Behind him - his shattered wife. Silent. Wishing the ground below her would open and swallow her whole.

Post script:
- Louisiana “Family Values” Republicans re-elected him.
- His grieving wife was nominated to the federal bench by a thrice-divorced Republican adulterer convicted of rape.
- The prostitute, hounded by the Republican adulterer’s DoJ, committed suicide.
