Congressional Democrats - numbers in the teens - it's clear we have a lot of work to do. Those numbers are not reactions to actual Democratic policies. They're reactions to better messaging on the other side.

Republicans are, unbelievably, still viewed as the party of fiscal responsibility and still viewed as the party of law and order.

No one seems to know that Democrats always improve the economy after republicans trash it. Democrats are not seen as the party safeguarding SS and Medicare and Medicaid, etc, though clearly we are. Democrats are not seen as the only sane option, though again, clearly we are.

That needs to change. Yes, republicans have controlled the media for 40 years. But that is 40 years for us to have come up with a way to get around their stranglehold on the media. Social media presents an opportunity for that. And there are people whose job it is to come up with other imaginative ways to get in front of the public's eyes.

We need to address this.
