But, calling them anything else tends to get a particular group of people even more riled up than usual.

I agree that it is the wrong term for them, given what they are doing. They aren't settling, they are stealing and murdering people for their land.

How they got us to accept it? Look at US history and what our "settlers" did. There's an answer there.
