(1,700 posts)there is always going to be someone worse. Human behavior knows no bounds (good or bad, but we usually talk about the bad). Not many people thought what the Nazis did in the 30s-40s could be outdone. Not many considered Stalin, but many facts have never been revealed. Pol Pot? And that is just in our last 100 years. More examples abound in the story of mankind.
What to me sets Trump apart in this moment is the power he wields and the enablers who surround him. He is a truly dangerous madman. Steven Miller is right there with him, albeit with much less actual power.
You have to also consider Netanyahu and his hell-bent vision of genocide. He has many enablers as well, and look at what he has done with much fewer resources than are at our disposal. And yet most of the world is content to look the other way, not unlike many right here in this country with their attitude towards Trump.
Rest assured, someone else will come along to grab that baton. Don't know where, don't know when, but they will come.
