Filing single when your income is the same is a real killer.

And they should do more to help single people, a lot of people are not marrying and really getting hit especially as they come closer to middle class. My daughter is thinking of marrying her boyfriend for tax reasons, they have been together for years, but he has no job after first few years and major Trumper with racist beliefs. She keeps making excuses for him and promised me prenup if they marry.
