5. I think shrinkflating should be illegal for FOUR reasons:

Not only is it deceptive, but it unnecessarily increases either the amount of plastic & packaging, if container sizes are reduced, or the shipping costs & associated pollution, if the same containers are used but contain less of the product.

Plus consumers end up having to waste more of their own time and energy buying, opening, trashing more containers, replacing toilet rolls, etc. etc.

(I'd also like to see laws prohibiting the use of plastic packaging when paper or something else can be used, taxing plastic packaging for the costs of safely recycling it, requiring that plastic & metal rings used in packaging be minimized or easily broken so they don't strangle growing turtles or the like, and requiring packaging dates on packaged "fresh" produce.)
