The equivocation between his social media posts, prerecorded addresses, possible AI edited press releases, and live speeches help provide an air of deeper and more consistently coherent and vaguely presidential thinking by the president. I often see a Trump quote and then a Trump approved stock photo that subtly implies it was a live quote rather than a written statement. Often, I go looking for a press briefing and find the world’s news organizations are just reporting each other reporting one truth social post. Trump may be just too complex for me to understand his code switching, but if I graded his posts as I would essays, I’d think they were written by multiple people. I guess it’s not much different than giving credit to Newsom for the clever retorts issued from his X account.
